Spring Camp Out
A pay as you go event
At Crazy Horse Campground
In Brodhead, WI
May 18, 19 & 20TH was the Spring Campout in Brodhead, Wisconsin, at the Crazy Horse Campground. Bob and Marge Wagner, George Barrington and Bob Crosson were at the campground starting on Wednesday (THE 17TH). They enjoyed riding the roads and making a beer run to the New Glarus Brewery for Spotted Cow in George’s truck. I understand that more than a few bottles were transported back across the border.
The weather predictions were fine for Saturday, but Sunday looked like it was going to be a wet day. Ken and I decided just to drive up for the day to lead the ride and then come home. The fog was thick for quite a few miles as we headed north. It did clear up and it was nice in Brodhead. Ken led us on a myriad of alphabet soup roads and rustic roads as we rode through the countryside. We had the roads mostly to ourselves as we wandered towards Mazomanie for lunch at Rookies. After a delicious lunch, we wandered the countryside some more with Ken leading and then switching off with Steve Mendel to take us back to the campground. After kicking tires for awhile, we headed for home. It was the first 400+-mile day for me this season.
It was a great ride with great temperatures, great roads and great people! Thanks Ken and Steve for a great day!
